Hey, that looks great. If the weather cooperates I think I'll give the
500/4.5 and AF1.7x a go tonight. A couple of good shots of the moon
could come in handy later on for montages.

Shot the moon though the clouds last night with my *ist D in combo with
my 
A*300/2.8 + 1.4X-L + AF Adapter 1.7X on a monster Manfrotto tripod. Even
with 
the stack of TCs the moon covers only 26.5% of the full width of the
frame. At 
EI200 the one of the better exposures though the light cloud cover was
1/50 @
