I have both the cable release and remote for my MZ-7. Despite having the
remote, which can fit in the pouch on the neck strap, I still carry the remote
cable as back up due to the remote having a limited life (about a thousand
commands). The manual recommends returning the remote to a service centre when
it's exhausted, though it looks as if it can be taken apart, but I would surmise
that it may be a special battery that's not readily available over the counter.
The time setting up of the cable release and using the remote is nominal in
terms of time and effort.
> Do you know where I could get it?
Not sure where you are in the world, but living in the UK I got mine from
Jessops (www.jessops.com)
> How much does it cost?
I paid £17.00 (UK Pounds)
> How big it is?
It's slightly smaller and thinner than the remote cable
> Can it be used on other bodies?

You can't go wrong with it. If you want to be in a group shot or take a self
portrait, then the IR remote wins hands down.
