Hi all,
Today my girlfriend received an email from someone at Philips. Apparently
she's won a 109P monitor in a competition we don't remember entering. Me,
being a suspicious type, checked the headers and the message looks
genuine :)
Looking at the specs, this is one impressive-looking monitor. It's a 19" CRT
(18" viewable), and it will do 1600x1200 at 85Hz no sweat. It even has a
5500K colour temperature setting. This thing craps all over the Viewsonic
17" I've got, not to mention the generic 15" she has at the moment.
The cheap S3 graphics board in her machine (actually owned by me:) won't
come close to driving it to its capabilities.
To say I'm jealous is putting it mildly! I guess I should start thinking
seriously about that PC upgrade... I can just imagine that thing running Gimp
on a dual-head setup with the image on the 19" at 5500K, and the controls
on the 17"... drool...
Cheers,
- Dave
