I'm afraid I'm joining this thread very late and am going back to the original OT thread.
A few years ago I worked about 20 miles from Prestwick Airport in bonnie Scotland. Sleeping in the office one morning, I was awoken by a horrendous noise that was Concorde passing low and slow over the office. 20 minutes later the sight repeated itself. To cut a long story short, British Airways used Prestwick for several years as their Concorde pilot training base (presumably the landing fees were low), and about every 3 - 6 months, we'd have a week where we would get Concorde fly pasts every 20 minutes. Despite the great noise, the novelty never wore off, and seeing the beast glide past brought a tear to my eye. Sadly, and to my eternal shame, I never bothered to point a camera at it.
