On some bodies, the flange (found on all or just about all of the
original line of VS1 K-mount lenses) doesn't cause any problem. In
fact, I'd used a couple of these lenses on a Super Program for a
while without giving it much thought. However, the first time that
I used one on an LX (and I don't remember now which lens it actually
was, but it really doesn't matter here, since the flange seems to be
the same on all of 'em), the flange slightly impinged on the upper
mirror box baffle in the LX, scraping against it. No significant
damage was done, but a tiny bit of flange removal would have been
all that would have been needed to have prevented the problem, if
I'd have only known about it ahead of time, which is why I mentioned
the problem here, to tip off any others who might not have known
about it (although the "diehard" VS1 users like Steve already know).
(Gee, that was a long sentence - <g>.)
