50mm (46.79 degrees), in 35mm is 40mm, (46.67 degrees), in APS. The angle of view horizontally and vertically
are different due to the different aspect ratios of the two formats. 43mm in APS, (43.73 degrees) is the
equivalent of 55mm, (42.94 degrees), in 35mm.
So the closest focal length to the current popular normal lens for 35mm, (50mm), is the M-40. The 43mm Ltd. is however
the only one that will give full functionality and it is within 2 degrees field of view of the old K-55mm.

Nice chart. Couldn't make head or tail of it, but nice chart. Now this is an interesting idea, but your answer is not what I expected.
Is this incorporating the idea that 43 is the real normal for 35mm? IIRC,
people said it was 43 -- which finally explained to me the odd focal lengths in
the Pentax limited series. (When I read that on this list I went do'h!) I mean,
because of the 1.5 "magnification" of the APS digital sensor, I would have
expected it to be 35mm.
Missing something here.
