It turns out my Tokina 400mm lens is an A series!!!!! Yippee!!!!!! My Tamron 300 is an adaptall, so I can mount an A series mount to it. Double Yippee!!! So, it seems the only hole in my lens range for the digital is longer than 100mm, shorter than 300mm. They make zooms for this, right? Oh man, I am becoming such a heretic. First zoom lenses, then next it will be on camera flash units, I bet. I should feel shame. But I don't.
