I had been using Palm Pilot (actually Visor Platinum and later Visor Prism) with FotoPad. FotoPad is a free program. I don't have the link at the moment but I remember it being the GNU freeware. If needed I can look up a link once I am home later today.

It takes few moments to customize this program - you have to enter data about your gear. Then it is very easy to use. There is a Windows command line companion program (included in the package) that can translate Palm PDB files built by this program to text or TeX files.

Or one could buy MZ-S which is known to imprint the exposure data on the negative. <grin>
