So, I plan to shoot with the 70-200 f2.8 and ISO 800 film (though I bought a couple of rolls of ISO 1600 just in case.) Anyone ever do this? Any tips or advice?

I should know better than to agree to stuff like this, but I'm scheduled to
photograph a high school swim meet next week. I'll have full access to the
deck, but not flash is allowed. The pool has a few small windows and a
bunch of bright lights - I suspect that they have a green or blue tint to them.
