Never had this happen with Purolator. They will try to deliver, and if they
fail, they leave a sticky note on the mailbox, and when the parcel gets back
to the depot, they phone and leave a message asking to arrange either
pick-up or delivery at my convenience.
They have never abandoned a parcel in front of my house, have never damaged
product being delivered, and have always been totally reliable and
reasonable with their charges.
The Post office works much the same way, except they don't phone.
