If you're not trying to hide what you're doing, if you're being completely open about it, then as far as I'm concerned none of the ethical issues, which bother some people, come into it. Once you've started shooting, people often do notice, but they either ignore you, or they don't mind, or they may play up. Sometimes they will 'give you the shot', which perhaps means they have an idea of what you're interested in, were going to do it anyway, and won't get in the way. Try walking along Brighton Beach (UK) sometime on a chilly winter's day and photographing couples sitting on the pebbles with a bottle of champagne, and see how many of them give you the shot. Here's a photo I took with a Zenit-E in about 1979, which shows the outcome of the subject co-operating a little too enthusiastically. Warning to the small-minded: shows small boy's pecker (almost lost in the grain)! www.web-options.com/flasher.jpg Technical note: it's a very poor negative and needs an awful lot of work to get a decent print. I haven't spent any time getting the scanned image sorted out yet. -- Cheers, Bob mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]
