Probably just the web server being overloaded; there are a few sites

The "rules" of composition are fine until you become a slave to them. 
One of my all-time favorites is the "Geese Over Quaker Pond" shot, which
breaks almost all the rules. Horizon too far toward the *edge* of the
frame, moon way up in the corner, whole lot of empty space in between,
etc. I still like it ;-)
