Hmmm. This is troubling. Provia 400F has the least exposure latitute of any film I have used, especially for overexposure. If you are more than 1/4 to 1/3 stop overexposed, you will not have a good image. Perhaps its sensitivity increases when it is exposed at 800 and pushed a stop. I haven't tried this, but can say that I've never had a problem. Still, it is possible that the machines can affect a film as sensitive as this.
