It's the BugBear. It uses the address books of infected computers to harvest email addresses that's used both for sender and recipient. Using addresses for sender different than the one of the infected account is intended to increase the confusion and reduce the chances to trace the infected computer. Most likely it's not Paal that sent you the virus. He just happened to be in somebody else's address book.
