Or there might be a Limited lens without an aperture ring, and if it is a good one, you will all buy it. This will ease your move towards the crippled mount.

LIMITED lens without an aperture ring is no LIMITED lens no more. Oh wait! What's a better name for a lens with limited ability? :-)


It is also my prediction that if Pentax survives this transition (from
Kaf2 to crippled-mount), there will eventually be a further mount
evolution that will support IS lenses.  I am sure that the *ist and ist
D mount does not support any unknown-to-us features.  At this time
Pentax is barely hanging on, but if they make it, it is clear to them
that they need to follow up with IS.

I have the feeling that Pentax is trying to follow the Nikon route - drop the aperture ring, introduce AF-S, then VR.
