I earn less than 50% of my income from photography (in fact, less than .5% :-) and I almost always shoot Canon, sorry C***** SLR (but not always: some Pentax ) and so fulfill the criteria laid out on the page. I'm very happy to be an amateur, as the only person I shoot for is myself. I made a web site so my mum could see the pics, bugger everyone else <vbg> I am humbled when I see work from others that I admire, and even more humbled when someone likes mine. More importantly, I have virtually no aspirations to be a professional photographer - for most, the money is not good. However, if I got made redundant then I dare say I would buy some more bits and hawk my stuff like mad. Nothing concentrates the mind like lack of income. And then I would be a whore - something to which I've always aspired!
