Taking the advice given by Alan I've looked at a few MXs on eBay. I need to buy within Europe to save the terrible nuisance of the drive, and the wrangling with the customs people in the city. I see two MXs, but the text is in German. My German is not really good enough - would someone please take a look and let me know if there are any reasons for not bidding on them. Perhaps it would be advisable to find the focussing screen *before* I get the camera, just to be sure that things will work?
