I agree the 2004 themes seem a little overly banal. (While I haven't submitted anything lately, but I had to get that slide scanner to do so. ;-))
I like Bob's suggestions: Water, Night, Rites & Festivals (or something like that). And Graywolf's emotion suggestions. I also think it would be fun to have at least one "kicker" theme, like the past cliche. Something a bit more "controversial" or challenging. Instead of having macro which would eliminate people without good or any macro equipment, howabout? -- Little and large? As either one theme or two. It would be interesting to see those interpretations. Marnie ;-)
