Grainy, very grainy.
After some disappointing experience I gave up using ISO 400 slides
unless it's unavoidable. The color balance of Sensia 400 seemed way too
cold for me, too.
It was the plain Sensia. I don't know about Sensia II (if exists) or
Provia 400F which I've never tried.

Is your friend an expert at this kind of things? Apparent sharpness can
be due to a variety of reasons.
