How do you get the border? Are they rough or straight?

I filed a carrier down by hand, but went a little too far and it looks
a bit silly. A little *too* sloppy.

I've been thinking of having a machine shop do a couple of carriers
for me. I would think they could do them very precisely, I'm just not
sure how much I should have them take off. I also wonder how precisely
I'd be able to line up the neg in the carrier.

And then there's 6x45 which has odd corners.

And then there are all those rolls with data imprinting.
