Gang, Last night, my photo club's monthly meeting was held at the Norwegian branch of Canon.
Of course the intention was to brag about some new and terribly exciting products. Here's a short version of what I heard about digital SLRs: They have stopped selling the D60, and it is no longer being produced. They have more orders than they can serve on the new D1s. A backlog of more than 100 cameras is quite much in a market as small as Norway. Some lenses were due for replacement with the coming of the D1s because of its full-frame sensor. First in line was a 24-70 zoom. They are planning to release more digital SLRs on PMA. No tech details had been revealed to them from Japan, but the target market was that of advanced amateurs. The Canon guy also claimed to know that Nikon was about to do the same. -- Interesting times? Jostein .
