Hi! A friend of mine has ME Super he recently bought. Everything seems to work about this camera except one strange thing.
Say, camera was unused for a day or two. No more than day or two is actually needed. Now, the first shutter fire is odd - the mirror would not go up swiftly. It would actually slow down quite a bit midway. Then eventually it would go up and shutter would fire. Instead of a blink of an eye the first shutter fire takes 1 or 2 seconds or so. Notice that the problem occurs even before the mirror has fully travelled up. Someplace in the middle it would pause for some time then complete its motion. After the first shot camera would work just like new. No signs of trouble whatsoever. The ultimate question is what can be cause of the problem and how to fix it. Please bear in mind that submitting the camera to CLA is close to impossible - no Pentax dealers around... Also, my friend can most probably perform the repair himself, he is quite a handy man.
