The way to handle your situation is to take some posed shots, then when they get bored take the candids you wanted. You can always come back with the posed shots and give them to the moms. After a while they will welcome you, and when they want a photo of little Suzy all dressed up they may offer to pay you a little something. Back long before any older man with a camera became a pervert thanks to those wonderful talking heads on TV it worked for me.
