B&W, at least to me, adds a sense of mystery.
That's the best way I can put it.
Color, while being nice for a lot of photos, doesn't seem to do justice (in
my eyes) for intense portraits or nudes.
I look at a B&W portrait and wonder what's going on inside the subject.
I look at a color portrait and don't wonder at all about any part of the
image.

Not exactly eloquent, but I hope you get the drift.
