It's the OS that recognizes the printer. I don't have photoshop working with
USB on my computer, as far as I'm concerned one device per. port, and they gave me a
couple of perfectly good printer ports on this motherboard. But I have had a number of
problems with USB devices due to BIOS problems, and I mean strange problems Digital
camera not recognized external DVD is. Upgrade the BIOS and shazam it works. I did
get photoshop 5.5 working on a friends SONY Vaio with a USB printer and that required
new software drivers from SONY. If the printer shows up in the installed printers
folder PS should use it just like any other program, if you're just getting strange
output, or no output, it's not Photoshops fault, it's a diver or bios problem.

And hell I'm just trying to help, (I usually charge $65/hour for this).

Once again, I have no problem with USB, period. Photoshop 5.5 came out long
before USB. I presume it does not recognize a USB printer, because it does
not do so on my system. Now if somebody wants to tell me they have a USB
printer working with PS5.5, fine. If you just think it should, bug off.
EXPERTS! I am one myself, so I know how stupid they are <GRIN>.

ONCE AGAIN there is nothing wrong with USB on my system, which I custom
built myself, I simply commented in a previous post that PS5.5 doesn't work
with USB. And I get people telling me I don't know how to set up my
computer. GEEZE!

PS: that is PS5.5 Educational Version.
