There's a "stand alone"/"photo shop plugin" from Polaroid that does a relatively
good job if you don't have ICE built into your scanner. You're supposed to
register it for use with a Polaroid product either Digi-cam or scanner but
even though I don't own one of either I was able to download a copy. It can
be a bit slow but it sure beats spotting an entire scan. I haven't found a
pure software solution that works better and it works with scanned B&W, (of course).

i looked at the program. i didn't try it and that does sound awfully slow.
