One reason I can think of right off hand is that he may not want
to pay eBay a fee to sell it there. That's not all bad ya know.
Another is that he might need the cash and is willing to sell at
that price to get the money faster. There are any number of
reasons for a person to do something like that besides being a
crook.
Find out how he will accept payment. If he's a verified member
of PayPal, and you are too, then risk is minimized.
