Anupam,

I think this is a non-SMC, Takumar lens. Check Stan Halpin's site
(http://www.concentric.net/~smhalpin) for reviews of this and many, many
more Pentax lenses. He has a link to Boz Dimitrov's site
(http://www.phred.org/pentax/k/) -- also a good link. Stan's site lists a
comment from a Gene Poon on the 70-200, in relation to some 70-210 zooms.
This particular user didn't seem impressed with the 70-200:

are better....

You might wish to consider an SMC-F 70-210/4-5.6 instead. (However, it
doesn't look like KEH has any of these right now. They list a bunch of
Takumar stuff that's supposedly f/4-5.6 -- I think this is a different and
lesser lens.) Reviews I've read of this one are favorable, and Mark Roberts
(one of our list members) really likes his. Also saw some positive comments
about the SMC-F 80-200/4.7-5.6. I think this one might be quite a bit more
compact than the SMC-F 70-210/4-5.6. Good luck!
