Shel, why are you personalizing a discussion of "composition of images,"
specifically, *how* "we" (photographers) compose images? Once so
personalized, as opposed to discussing Mike's point or mine, the conversation
becomes filled with anecdotes, reflecting "you" (Shel) as opposed to the "we"
context you deny exists.
Can you be objective regarding Mike's observation and the operative core of
my statement, that is: wanting to discuss how Mike saw composing and my
questioning his use of the word compose? Can you take his side or mine
without injecting yourself in the conversation?
You've already said things which might start a flame war (if I decided to
engage). I won't. But neither will I go into a point for point refutation of
your "style" vis-a-vis what Mike said and my suggestion that we should use
another word. You see, I don't disagree with what Mike said, just the word.
Can you address the "we" style of shooting without injecting your *personal*
style or opinion? In almost every discussion, the person who objectifies,
or personalizes the topic, loses, as you have, the essence of the topic and
subsequent statements.
Further Shel, personalized shooting details are anecdotes.
I see you as being argumentative just to make a point about "your" style,
itself a factor in "your" life and no other, anecdotes that fail to address
either Mike's position or mine.
I'll not engage you point for point about your "style."
It is "your" style, after all.
