This topic has been covered fairly well, but I just found some info on it
while going through some of the books for my fathers old Spotmatic F.
From"Asahi Pentax -- Complete system of Photography"
Ghostless Filter
With this curved UV or Skylight filter on
your lens, the image light reflected back
to the filter surface and re-transmitted
through the lens forms a duplicate image
in the air, thus eliminating a ghost image
on the film plane.
The filter is listed as having an exposure factor of 1 and being only
available in the 49mm size.
Another neat animal listed in the booklet is the Ultra-Achromatic-Takumar
85mm f/4.5. According to the booklet this lens uses no glass at all. all
elements are made of Fluorite and quartz. Anyone ever seen or used one of
these beasties? If so what for??????
