I recently obtained a Pentax A3000 which was part of a
scientific instrument. I do not know what kind or what
it did.

It has on it a fixed-focus lens with, I assume, fixed
aperture since I see nothing which will manipulate it.
My questions regarding it are two-fold.

1) The 5 screws which hold on the receving part of the K-
mount on the A3000 body are not the right kind. The head
of the screw sticks out several millimeters and none of
my lenses will fit flush on the body nor even attach. It
should be a simple matter of replacing the screws which
leads to my question. How can I obtain screws for the
A3000 body that would have been standard?

2) I was looking through the viewfinder and nticed the
lens is set to focus somewhat close (6 or so inches) and
the images appear bigger than I could normally achieve
in the viewfinder. I think I could enjoy just using this
camera to take these close up pictures but I worry about
how they turn out. Is there a setting on the A3000 that
accounts for a fixed aperture and adjusts shutter speed
to compensate?

I thought it'd be fun to play around with the A3000 as a
side to my K1000 but I have been thwarted and my lack of
knowledge on program functions hinders me. Thanks for
any thoughts anyone may have.
