The good of the unit for hand holding is that it is internal focusing and you can with
a big enough hand

the strong part of your hand under the front for support and reach back with a couple
of fingers
and focus it --- I think I set it on my hand and use the thumb and pinky to focus.
It is a lot harder
to
handle a heavy lense when you have to screw the whole front of the lense.
