The criteria you give would seem ideal for the 6x7. It is fairly
easily handheld (I would still put at least a monopod under it
if possible, and if you are shooting indoors, the slow sync
speed presents no problems. It is only outdoors, when you are
competing with sunlight that the slow speed is a bother. Even
then, moving the subject into the shade, or using a reflector
instead of flash makes the problem moot. The 6x7 has been an
excellent performer in the studio for me, and several noteworthy
studio photographers use the 6x7. (I am not one of the
noteworthy ones, unfortunately)
