Hi!
Up until now I would have thought that sound devices you attach to your
computer don’t have any baring on its performance? Well it seems I’ve been
proven wrong and I’ll explain why.
Up until last Wednesday I was using a pair of Logitech Stand-Alone $20 USB
speakers with my Mac, not for music enjoyment primarily rather for the output
of Voiceover, the speakers were small and could be easily placed near me on the
desktop.
One of the problems I was having with my Mac at that time - and had for as long
as I could remember - was Voiceover inexplicably crashing for no apparent
reason so when this happened the obvious and only option was to restart the Mac
and wonder just how long I’d have to do some work before Voiceover crashed
again.
That seems to have all changed since Wednesday morning when I disconnected the
Logitech speakers and connected the B&W MM1 speaker system, I’ve had no
Voiceover crashes since that time and of course my ears are keeping the
benefits of a much better clarity from Voiceover.
as for the Logitech speakers? They’ve been put away and will probably never get
used often again though I have to admit that they’re worth every bit of $20
just for the convenience factor, put them in a bag with your laptop and you
have reasonable sound whoever you go without power cords attached etc.
