Hello Norma and list: Actually that is my intention, that is, if I can ever figure how I can get the thing to play! No matter what I have read, VLC just plain _will not_ play it! Windows Media will play some of it, but then it stops and seems to just freeze up! Tom Kaufman

That's all I can think of so far. I am really wanting to play this DVD set I got as it is the band I work in when we worked a show back in November! My portable DVD player would play it, but am having problems with that machine (not because of the DVD in question) but for some rreason I cannot charge the battery! Back to my original problem: I have these DVDs that were made of a show I and the band were involved in; when I put the DVD into the disk drive, VLC comes up.but that's about as far as it will go! So I then tried physically going to my D drive and pressed "enter, where I was promptly told that Windows could not access the specified device, path or file; it goes on to say that I may not have the permissions to access this device, which is bullsh** (I paid for these DVDs and I want to see them! I've managed to watch some of it with Windows Media Player. However it tells me something about "transisioning so much percent (don't understand that either) then after a few minutes, the video stops playing! Am running Windows 7 (home edition) if this helps any! Surely there is someone on this fine list that can tell me what it is I need to do to make these DVDs play! I know there are some on here that swear by VLC (they say that VLC will play anything; well ya can't prove it by me! So I await your response and will post any updates that I can share! Tom Kaufman
