Hello André The first option looks favourable.
You could use the analogue input and output for other devices if you so needed to once you have finished with the transcription of your vinyl. If any of the devices are maines powered, be sure to check for any hum loops or other extraneous interfeerence. The little Roland pre-amp I am using here, is beautifully quiet. Either that, or i'm deaf and it doesn't matter anyway. But it has analogues in, with manual gain on the audio channel. Headphone socket for monitoring if you need it. Good Luck, and enjoy those hours ahead of real-time transcription. I already have a rega turntable so that is not the problem. As this is a high quality turntable, I would not like to decrease the sound quality in any way. So it seems there are two scenarios I can use regarding the hardware? 1. I can get a phono preamp with an analog sound output and then get some kind of a USB audio input device with an analog input. Or 2. I can get a phono preamp with a USB connection. Any advice from anyone on which route to go?
