I installed a new Dell monitor today and I was interested to note the
audio features the monitor boasted.
Sick and tired of hearing those tinny dreadful speakers that
Monitors/TV'S provide? Well with the new Dell 27 inch you'll hear them
no more because the Monitor doesn't contain any internal speaker system
and about time too!
What the Dell does offer is an Audio Line-out socket - just Analogue as
far as I can tell and not digital -, the idea being you can send audio
via 1 of the HDMI ports on the Monitors underside.
Dell does sell a Soundbar to match the monitor which I've ordered and
should have next week.
For $27 I'm not expecting too much in the way of audio performance, I'm
only buying the Soundbar accessory for speech mainly as it would be nice
to have speech produced from the Monitor or as near to the monitor as is
possible, I'm hoping that the Dell Soundbar will give me something
better than what I've experienced from internal speakers of Monitors in
the past.
