Hi. When I attach the AC plug I get no notification. I didn't try charging via the usb because if a problem occurs then I have another element to consider, is the fault with the player, the usb connection or my computer etc. The AC was the most straightforward so I've used that but it must be the default setting. When I'm more experienced I will try the usb and no doubt I'll get a notification confirming usb charging, will have to wait and see.
Last night I thought; what the hell, and put it on charge again over night. I didn't do anything different as far as I know but in the morning I disconnected it from the mains and turned it on and this time didn't get the three beeps and the voice navigation was working. I won't do anything involved with it until Friday when I'll get sighted help and if the charging indicator shows full then I'll try exploring the player. In between now and then I'll try working through some of the manual and try and make sense of it. However though, it is working, so far anyway. I think though I'll buy a replacement battery just to be on the safe side as they aren't too expensive from Amazon. Then depending on your U S B settings, you must either select the a c adapter setting, or it will be selected by default. Then once you here that, you must press enter, it should then speak the promt: "press ok to start charging" and once you here that you must press the enter key strait away. You might not here any feedback at that point, but its very important you press enter at that stage and no other button, because that dialog will dismiss. What happened to you is that you plugged it in power, but you did perhaps not confirm the charging aspect. Then it run on power only. So then you took it out, and when it turn back on, it gave you free short beeps to confirm that the battery is stil flat. It did not charge and therefore it only work in the wall.
