Hi folks, mostly broadcasters using Studio with NVDA:

I'm delighted to announce the release of November 2014 snapshot for upcoming
version 4.0-dev of the NVDA add-on for SPL. Version 4.0 includes various new
features such as support for Track Tool, support for SPL Encoder and new
commands. It also includes bug fixes and various changes to support Studio
5.10. For more information about the add-on, go to:

http://addons.nvda-project.org/addons/StationPlaylist.en.html

The download link for the current 4.0-dev snapshot is at:

http://1drv.ms/1urEwhC

Once you go there, select the add-on file (press ENTER on it), and download
alert will be displayed. As the snapshot is meant for users to test features
for the upcoming version and to gather feedback, please don't use it in a
production environment.

Here is a summary of what's coming in version 4.0 of the add-on (scheduled
for February 2015):

* Support for SPL Encoder: In addition to supporting SAM Encoder
(introduced in version 3.0), NVDA supports SPL Encoder (Studio 5.00 and
later).

* Support for Studio 5.00 and later: Version 4.0 supports Studio
versions 5.00 and later (this includes 5.10). For people using Studio 4.33,
a compatibility version will be released shortly after 4.0 goes live.

* Introduction monitoring: Just like end of track alarm, you can ask
NVDA to keep an eye on song intros.

* Microphone alarm: in case you left your mic on, NVDA will let you
know via a beep that the microphone has been active for a while.

* Library scan announcements: you can track library scans from the
background, as well as obtain info on how many items were scanned so far.

* Braille countdown timer: you can ask NVDA to display remaining
time for the currently playing track.

* Track Tool: NVDA will play a beep if intro has been defined on a
track, as well as providing commands to obtain specific info on a track such
as artist.

* No more need to configure alarms manually: alarms such as end of
track are now stored in a dedicated config file and will be loaded when
Studio starts. This also applies to stream labels for encoders.

P.S. Brian and Jeff is working on their scripts for Studio which will
