No beeps unfortunately. Also note that the Tecsun PL660 and other radios like it from the same company are a little qwerty sometimes.
For example if you type 1070 on the keypad when you’re on the Medium Wave or AM band the radio will take you straight to the typed in frequency with no need of a press of the enter key. This however can be different on the Short Wave bands. For example if you type 2500 to get to 2.5MHZ then you’ll have to press the enter key after you’ve typed in the frequency, that frequency is out of the pre-programmed Short Wave bands which can be moved between by using the Short Wave Band up and down buttons. There are some keypad shortcuts to be aware of too which makes typing in a frequency that little bit easier. On the Short wave band, suppose you want to go to 15MHZ, just type 15 and press enter. As I remember the radio has a thousand memories and they’re in pages, they can be accessed via the page up and down buttons. There are I think 500 Ramdom Access memories and the rest are divided up amongst the various bands - FM, Long-Wave, Medium-Wave and Short-Wave along with Air Band. Each memory is assigned a number on a page so you can either type in the number corresponding to the memory position or use the tuning knob to move up and down memories on a page. To enter a memory into the radio, tune to the desired frequency and hold down the memory key to left of the 0 key for 4 seconds. ********** Dane Trethowan grtd...@internode.on.net Skype: grtdane12 Phone US (213) 438-9741 Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 Mobile: +61400494862 faceTime +61400494862 Fax +61397437954 Twitter: @grtdane > On 22 Oct 2014, at 9:18 pm, Howard <hwolc...@stny.rr.com> wrote: > > hi dane: > am most interested in if the memories are accessible and able to be useful > for us. > also, would like to know if there are beeps while the keys are pressed. > as far as I know, at least on mine, I have no beeps so I presume there aren't > any. > and, of course, any other useful info you may have gleaned from your use of > the radio. > thanks. > > > howard wolcott > > -------------------------------------------------- > From: "Dane Trethowan" <grtd...@internode.on.net> > Sent: Wednesday, October 22, 2014 5:58 AM > To: "PC Audio Discussion List" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> > Subject: Re: Tecsun PL660 Radio > >> Well actually I’m going to have it for a fortnight longer so what do you >> wish to know? >> >> ********** >> >> Dane Trethowan >> grtd...@internode.on.net >> Skype: grtdane12 >> Phone US (213) 438-9741 >> Phone U.K. 01245 79 0598 >> Phone Australia (03) 9005 8589 >> Mobile: +61400494862 >> faceTime +61400494862 >> Fax +61397437954 >> Twitter: @grtdane >> >> >> >> >> >>> On 22 Oct 2014, at 8:57 pm, Howard <hwolc...@stny.rr.com> wrote: >>> >>> hi dane: >>> I hope I didn't miss the tecsun 660 info. >>> I know you said you wouldn't ha ve it at the end of this week so I >>> certainly would like the info before you don't have it any more. >>> thanks. >>> >>> >>> howard wolcott >>> >>> -------------------------------------------------- >>> From: "Howard" <hwolc...@stny.rr.com> >>> Sent: Saturday, October 18, 2014 9:04 AM >>> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> >>> Subject: Re: Tecsun PL660 Radio >>> >>>> hi dane: >>>> I was one of the people who are interested. >>>> I do have the radio and still haven't figured it all out >>>> thanks for any info and tricks from your experience with the radio. >>>> >>>> >>>> howard wolcott >>>> >>>> -------------------------------------------------- >>>> From: "Dane Trethowan" <grtd...@internode.on.net> >>>> Sent: Friday, October 17, 2014 9:41 PM >>>> To: "PC Audio Discussion List" <pc-audio@pc-audio.org> >>>> Subject: Tecsun PL660 Radio >>>> >>>>> Hi! >>>>> >>>>> I think there were some list members who had questions regarding the >>>>> workings of this radio?
