Yes, that's the way I originally bought Fission, saved quite a bit of money doing things that way.
Audio Hijack Pro is an astonishing tool, take command of every aspect of your audio on the computer, hijack it, record it it, redirect it and so on, no audio conflicts to worry about either. There are other applications that do similar things to what Audio Hijack Pro does, I think there's something called Snowtape.
