Of course the 9.2 figure only refers to some of the functionality of this magnificent piece of equipment, you can for instance bridge all those channels together given that the AVR4520 has 9 discrete amplifiers, imagine the power you get which would be great for outdoor entertaining and other uses.
the receiver is multi zone so you can use some of those channels to deliver music or other audio content to other parts of the house.
