I mentioned the CC II/E radio in a previous post, this radio is okay for long Distance lisetning on the Am band however its more geared to quality sound than actual sensitivity but still performs reasonably well. There is another set I've mentioned quite some time ago that is red hot! when it comes to AM Long Distance listening and is at a bargain price. The set I'm referring to is the excellent Sangean PRD5 radio. To prove the point of just how good it is, its just after 20 minutes to 9 on Friday morning local time and I'm clearly listening to a country station in Swanhill, that's around 195 miles from here. This radio - whilst sensitive - does not have excellent audio quality though its acceptable. The radio doesn't show any signs of overload wunlike the CC II. The sangean PRD5 has 2 2.5 inch stereo speakers and FM sounds quite reasonable though its not very selective though certainly not the worst FM receiver around.
