I know this sounds weird but have you tried a different usb cable? I had
this problem with my bookport. Every other device worked fine with this
particular cable but I had to use a different chord to plug in the bookport.

Joe do you have an sd card slot in your desktop or an sd card reader? You
could just take the sd card out of your plextalkand hook it up to yourpc.
