Hi All,
I purchased a little cassette player with a USB connection for putting some casettes on my computer. The software supplied is Audacity. It works ok except there are two problems. The first I can deal with after a little exploring. What is happening that that as soon as I connect the USB JAWS stops talking. Well, I figured out that JAWS and Audacity are both fighting for my single sound card. So, now I go to the record button and then connect the player, press record and then press play on the player. I can then moniter the player to hear what song is being recorded and when it turns off at the end I just get out of Audacity and JAWS resumes talking. It's a little awkward but it works. The second problem is that once I have the casette transferred it is simply one long file with no markings between songs, so you can't select just one song at a time. Is there a way to put CD markings between songs so you can move from one song to another? Can I do this with Audacity? I don't want to bother to learn a new specialized music program because once I have these tapes copied to the computer then I can put them on my Stream or Apex or whatever so I won't need to mess with this again. Do you have any sugestions? Thanks much. Kris To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org
