I think you might need sighted help to see the download link for the
downloader. I do know when I purchase an mp3 file or album I then see the
link for the downloader but my tame computer guy saw it before that but it
is there. As for Cloud players being the future? In the UK if you wanted
1tb of storage on the Amazon cloud then it would cost £320 per year, that's
$486 per year, a lot of money that will never cease and may only go up. If
it were a more economical option that would be different. Also, not all
cloud storage is accessible for the blind and there is no sign of them
becoming so unless there are plug ins and or work arounds. Here in the UK I
can get 2 Seagate 4tb USB external drives for the £320 Amazon wants for 1TB
of storage and the External drive is much more accessible. Walter.

not the route for some the route for all I am seeing more and more the
industry adopting cloud storage and pushing it hard. I see references to
the downloader when they discuss amz files but no link to the downloader
only the cloud player operator error?

Hi Ray. No, when you download whole albums either from the site or from the
cloud player you still need the Amazon downloader. You can as I understand
it download a single track without the downloader but not a whole album,
unless you want to download the album track by track. However, if you have
the downloader installed then even downloading a single track will launch
the downloader but if you don't have the downloader you can only download
one track at a time. You don't have to download any tracks though and you
don't need the downloader if you are only going to play tracks on the cloud
player, you only need the downloader if you want to download a track to your
computer, apart from that you can use the cloud player as your music player.
You have 5gig free space but you can purchase more if you wish, up to 1TB
but that is expensive. In essence, you need never download any music to
your computer and in fact any music you have on your computer can be
uploaded to the cloud player. I guess you could look at the cloud player
as an extra usb drive but without the physical drive but in the long run I
think it is expensive but it might be the rout for some. . Walter.

I did not see the mp3 downloader program which I thought had been rendered
obsolete by this cloud thing.

I had bought tracks from them a long time ago. Got those folks on the phone
last night and solved the redirect problem I don't know why or how but when
I was last in the UK I linked the 2 but we have it sorted now from that
perspective.

Hi. No, you don't have to play anything. You don't have to download the
cloud player, it is a part of the Amazon site. What you would need to do is
download and install the Amazon downloader because you will need that to
download whole albums but you don't need to download anything to play music
that is on your cloud player and you don't have to play anything to get to
it. Here's my suggestion; Go to www.amazon.com. Sign in and if you are
redirected to the UK site, ignore it.
Find the combo box where you select the catogory of the items you want to
search for, in your case,
MP3 downloads. Then tab to the edit box and typen in Tony Christie. You
can type in anything; the Beatles, The Eagles etc, it is just to get you to
the results page. Once there look for the link that will take you to the
cloud player and press enter on it. If you can try that and then get back
to us and let us know the result. By the way, have you purchassed any music
from Amazon's mp3 downloads in the past? Walter.

Hi Ray. I get that message also but it clears in around 10 or 15 seconds.
When you go to the normal site, go to the combo box and select MP3 and put
in the edit box any artist or track you wish and when you get the results
you will find a link to the cloud player there somewhere. Walter.

Hi Ray. OK, if I understand you correctly, you go to .com and sign in and
when you sign in you are redirected to .co.uk, is that what happens? If so
that is very strange. After I sent my last message I did what I said I
would; I went to .com and signed in and was redirected to .co.uk but that is
right and proper because I can't download anything from the .com site.
Apart from contacting Amazon customer service why not just go to the regular
Amazon .com site and sign in. Then when you see the link for the cloud
player, click on it and see where it takes you.
Walter.
