Hello all,

The agency for the blind for which I do remote audio production, voiceover
and consultation work has been using JAWS on a computer that runs its radio
Reading service. The service is using Station Playlist Creator and Station
Playlist Studio for its automation software. When I worked directly at the
agency and we originally set up the system, we tried to have two sound cards
and tell JAWS which card to use. The problem was that whenever we would
load JAWS, the automation software would crash. The only recourse we would
have was to reboot the computer. At the time, we solved the problem by
finding an older DoubleTalk external synthesizer. Now, however, the agency
is having problems with the computer that runs the radio reading service.
Although I no longer reside in the locale of the agency's offices and
studios, I have agreed to help them via telephone and internet through this
situation. After trying everything we know, we--the agency, the agency's
computer technician and I--have decided to replace the radio reading
service's automation computer. We want to try the dual sound card set-up
again because we don't think the DoubleTalk will work with the new computer.
What are some sound cards that are known to work well in this set-up?

Thanks.

Jim
