Okay thanks, gives me something to at least think about.

No, unfortunately I don't think so.
I totally agree about FaceBook.
I signed up for Spotify prior to the stupid FaceBook account requirement.
I have not seen any attempts to force me to move to the new FaceBook
account/integration but as I said it looks like new customers is required to
have a FaceBook account.
If Spotify of some reason decide to force me to create a FaceBook account to
use their service I'm pulling out.
I'll cancel my subscription immediately if they force me to move to the new
sign-up method.

Yep, that's the sort of information I'm looking for thanks!
I was never interested in the Desktop apps for Spotify on Mac or Windows, I
know the IOS App is quite accessible so may have a look at that.
One final thing, is there any way to bypass the "Facebook" registration? I don't have
a Facebook account and don't really want one unless there's a real benefit to be had which I
can't see right now<smile>.

The Spotify desktop is inaccessible on the PC and I guess it is on Mac as well.
However I'm a Spotify Premium user because it works nice with my Sonos system
and on the iPhone.
Some unlabeled buttons exist on the iPhone app but it's usable when you get
used to it.
You will also need to get to know the app by exploring the screen with your
finger because flicking skips some controls.
If you are not familiar with Sonos more info can be found here:

I use Last.fm here in the uK. There are two subscription models. 1.
Pay
£3 for one month as and when you like, and 2. Pay £3 per month as a
regular payment, costing £36 a year. I choose the former since I don't
use Last.fm on a regular basis, only to help me re-discover an artist
or discover something new.

Hi!
Has anyone tried a Streaming Subscription Music Service such as "Sportify
Premium" etc and if so how have you found it?
Sportify is the one I'm mainly interested in as it operates in Australia.
I was a little disappointed to learn that the Squeezebox app for Sportify will
only work on Squeezebox Touch and Radio models, I only have a Squeezebox Boom!
but not to worry, interested to hear from others about this.
If you got Sportify working then on what devices did you get it working on?
