Hi! The subject of computers and answering machines seems to come up from time to time on this list.
I'm using a Fritzbox 7390 router which also has excellent VOIP facilities built-in and even more! For example it has a DECT base station which can manage 6 cordless telephone handsets and 5 configurable answering machines. One of the great features I like about the answering machines is the ability for the Fritzbox to "email" incoming messages. Recording is excellent given that the device uses chips for storage. If you rely on your answering machine a lot and you need more space then you can attach an external drive or memory stick to the Fritzbox to increase the size of the storage for your answering machine amongst other things.
