Hi Everyone!
I've been using the ABC iView player on my iPad lately, one of the
things I like about the player is that you can stream content from your
iPad to your Apple TV or any other "Airplay" compatible device such as a
pair of speakers, Airport Express, another computer or IOS device
through Airfoil Speakers etc.
ABC iView is the ABC'S Catchup TV service and we're talking the
australian Broadcasting Coporation here <smile>.
To my knowledge the web based iView service is not too accessible with a
computer as it uses the flash player extensively so its a pleasant
surprise to be able to use the iPad version quite well, a bit fiddly to
start with but you get used to things.
I also have the BBC iPlayer here though I've not had any luck with this
yet, for a $9.95 subscrription you get access to BBC content which is
then streamed to your iPad device so I'll have another play with the app
and see if I can get the thing working.
As a final note I'd like to thank everyone who wrote to me regarding VPN
networks, I bought a 12 month subscription to Witopia which seems to
offer the best VPN service around, $69.00 per year.
VPN was easy enough to set up on the iPad/iPhone and i have multipole
VPN configurations here depending on which I need, for example I have a
confiugration for the U.S> when watching TV or radio in the States, a
configuration in London etc.
